Swiss International University (SIU) has reached a big step in its academic growth by reaching two important international research goals. These changes support SIU's long-term plan to bring its research up to global academic standards, make it easier to see research, and make its academic community more visible around the world.
Improving the Quality of Research by Registering with Crossref
One of the most important things that happened is that Crossref officially registered the Unveiling Seven Continents Yearbook Journal (U7Y Journal). Because of this, every article that comes out in the journal now has a permanent Digital Object Identifier (DOI).
This step has big effects on the quality and trustworthiness of academic work. DOIs make sure that scholarly works can always be found, easily found, and reliably cited in research databases around the world. For authors, researchers, and partner institutions, this means that published research will be easier to find, easier to track citations, and available for a long time.
SIU shows that it cares about responsible academic publishing, high-quality metadata, and making research available to everyone by using Crossref standards in its publishing system.
ORCID Membership: Building a Stronger Researcher Identity
At the same time, Swiss International University has been confirmed as an ORCID Member Organisation, starting on January 1, 2026. SIU can officially add unique researcher identifiers to its academic and research systems now that it is a member of ORCID.
This change makes it easier to correctly attribute scholarly work, makes researcher names less confusing, and makes international academic platforms more open. For faculty, doctoral students, and researchers at SIU, ORCID integration makes sure that their professional profiles around the world are correctly linked to their publications, affiliations, and research outputs.
Joining ORCID also puts SIU in line with top universities, research centres, and publishers around the world that value ethical research management and academic recognition around the world.
A Strategic Move in SIU's Global Vision
These two accomplishments are not just one-time things; they are part of SIU's larger institutional vision. The university keeps putting money into research facilities, international standards, and digital academic systems that encourage new ideas, honesty, and working with people around the world.
SIU strengthens its role as an internationally focused university dedicated to high-quality education, credible research, and long-term academic growth by improving its scholarly publishing ecosystem and researcher identity framework.
Looking Ahead
Swiss International University is still building its international partnerships, research platforms, and academic networks. The U7Y Journal's Crossref registration and ORCID membership are both big steps forward in this journey. They show that SIU is a university that values global standards, openness, and making a long-term impact on academics.
These milestones show that SIU is still committed to academic excellence and to its students, researchers, and partners around the world.
